10C Shared Space

Located in Guelph, Ontario, 10C is a social entrepreneurship hub, a platform for changemakers, including 200+ members working across sectors and engaging in innovative work to gather, exchange ideas and work for change. 10C has been successful in its vision of creating a stable platform for collaboration, resource sharing, and collective community impact. The ongoing work of 10C is organized into five main streams, within which we see great potential for SDG integration: 

• Supporting a membership of social changemakers. Using SDGs as a framework can help all of 10C’s members tell more effective impact stories. 
• Providing social change and educational offerings that support grassroots and established community organizations as well as businesses.
• Building an SDG focus in Nourish by 10C, a kitchen that helps. This shared multi-use commercial community kitchen project was launched in 2019.
• Seeding and growing the local Circular Food Economy. 10C’s role in the “Smart Cities Challenge” recently awarded to Guelph-Wellington is to elevate the social enterprise and social finance goals of Guelph and Wellington’s circular food economy project. This work, which will spur more companies to work towards a sustainable future, has the potential to integrate directly with SDG measurement. 

10C’s purpose statement, ‘Our future matters. We inspire possibility and create change – now’ also connects directly to helping our community see and understand the 2030 Agenda. By bringing powerful and tangible SDG stories to the public, we can show local impact and shine lights on a hopeful reality that balances challenges with positive and widespread action, and strives to leave no one behind.
