The BookWorm Initiative (est. 2017) is a registered non-profit corporation dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth through literacy and learning. Located in Niagara, Ontario, The BookWorm Initiative is youth-led and operated through a series of campaigns. In the past, we have hosted book clubs, collected 7,000+ books for youth experiencing poverty, supported 30 children in Uganda to continue their studies during COVID-19, and more!
We are dedicated to advancing literacy across the country and globally through SDG 4: Quality Education. In particular, our mandate typically falls under Canada’s SDG 4.6 (literacy and numeracy) as we focus on improving literacy skills amongst youth.
