An Alliance 150 event in Montreal

During Canada’s sesquicentennial, Community Foundations of Canada initiated a program called Alliance 150 to build a network of organizations working on issues around youth engagement, diversity & inclusion, care for the environment and reconciliation between indigenous and non-indigenous Canadians. As a network, we promoted action, engagement and impact around Canada’s 150th through a series of in-person events and an online digital platform called alliance150.ca, supported in part by the Government of Canada.

As Canada’s 150th came to an end, the Alliance began exploring how the priorities and legacies from Canada’s 150th could help shape the future of Canada, using the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework.

Today, Alliance 150 lives on as Alliance 2030, and as the network grows and increases its potential for cooperation and collaboration, so too does its capacity to help Canada work toward the SDGs. Learn more about what we hope to achieve by reading our About page and our launch announcement.

Alliance 150 Members

Members of Alliance 150 can be viewed on the platform under the Canada 150 tag, or by the Canada 150 priorities of youth, environment, reconciliation, and inclusion and diversity.

The majority of our Alliance 150 members are already working on issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals, whether through poverty reduction, gender equality, education and learning, or climate action. Therefore, we encourage all organizations who had profiles with Alliance 150 to join us as we build a network of engaged individuals and organizations working towards achieving Agenda 2030 in Canada and abroad.
