The Treaty 8 Tribal Association (T8TA) supports and provides advisory services to BC’s Treaty 8 First Natiologons. The purpose is to achieve sustainable shared economic prosperity and create strong proud communities. We strive to do all of this; while preserving our cultural heritage and protecting the environment and our historic Treaty 8 Rights and interests.
The Treaty 8 Tribal Association was incorporated in 1982 under the BC Societies Act. T8TA acts as a coordinator, a facilitator, and technical support on various issues as mandated from time to time by the Council of Treaty 8 Chiefs.
We are a Treaty 8 First Nation-driven association guided by the teachings of our ancestors. Our mission is to engage with the collective member First Nations on political and technical priorities, as well as to provide advisory services for the purpose of achieving economic prosperity, self-sufficiency, protection of the land, and a healthy environment. We strive to do all of this while preserving our culture and our Treaty 8 rights and interests.
