The TRUNKSHOW YYC is an events-based, living gallery, and “place activation machine”.

It advocates for and with locals i.e. “Calgarians”, and their evolving stories,

health & wellbeing, culture/s, identities, ecologies, and local economies.

Our work curates a variety of event/s and experience formats e.g. pop up installations, interactive showcases, markets, performances, and fairs and their combinations, to “capture and champion” the diversity of emerging narratives, civic initiatives, “characters”, gems, talents, innovations and local businesses that make “Calgary” who it is as a place/ City/ economy; and that make Calgary healthy and resilient.

These events are also meant to catalyze various place making, public health, and community building initiatives and strategies pursued by various enterprises, socio-civic groups and equity-seeking communities in the City.

Through a variety of experiments, events, set-up, formats, content, and combinations thereof, in public or private spaces (indoors + outdoors) or digital spaces, we hope to share insights about ourselves and our city, and to inform policies and interventions that will make our cities, ourselves, our economies, our health & wellbeing better, nicer, and sustainable.
