The mission of The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford, which opened in September 2008, is to be the centre of cultural and creative innovation in the Fraser Valley. Operated by a dedicated board of directors and qualified staff team with the help of 130+ volunteers, The Reach preserves and shares the stories of Abbotsford’s rich and diverse cultural heritage and showcases the best in arts from both inside and outside the community.

As an engaging and dynamic gathering place we are committed to excellence, quality programming and introducing the public to the multi-disciplinary, inspiring and provocative world of arts and culture. We have presented hundreds of innovative and engaging exhibitions, profiled hundreds of local, regional, national and international artists and offered countless critical and visual thinking arts and heritage learning programming for children and families, both in-house and in the community.

We continue to work collaboratively with our diverse populations: the Sikh, Mennonite, Japanese, Chinese, Stó:lō and Jewish, and with many non-profit community organizations including the local school district, University of The Fraser Valley, community non-profit organizations and local businesses. The Reach has received six awards for excellence in exhibition programming and public engagement.

The Reach is a public-facing cultural facility that promotes visual literacy and audience engagement in all of its programming, with consideration given to audiences at all levels of artistic understanding. We aim to proactively engage children and youth in the arts to build the audiences of tomorrow. We use arts and heritage as a catalyst to create together, exchange experiences, encourage discussion and nurture a healthy community.
