GenWell, a registered Canadian non-profit since 2016, is Canada’s Human Connection Movement. Our mission is to create a happier and healthier world by educating, empowering, and catalyzing Canadians about the importance of face-to-face social connection as a proactive step we can all take for our health, happiness, longevity and the betterment of society.

We achieve this on a population level through our website, daily social media presence, media outreach, and seven annual catalytic campaigns designed to encourage Canadians to reach out and get connected face-to-face for their own health or the health of others. These campaigns are strategically timed throughout the year, targeting key moments, specific population segments or occasions, which ensures that everyone in Canada can benefit from the reminder, excuse, and permission to get connected.

At the grassroots level, we deliver interactive and engaging social health programs in workplaces, schools, community groups, municipalities, and senior-focused organizations. These programs raise awareness about the increasing challenges of social isolation, disconnection, and loneliness and their effects on both individual and societal well-being. We conclude by highlighting the power of human connection as a proactive step we can all take to enhance health and happiness, not only for ourselves but also for those around us.

We are guided by a business and scientific advisory board. After seven years of being a volunteer-led organization, we recently received significant funding to help develop a broader organization that can share our work, message, and mission across Canada and beyond.
