Sistema Toronto

Sistema Toronto provides a free after-school social development program for at-risk children ages 6-12 using music education. Our program is located in 3 priority neighbourhoods in Toronto: Parkdale, Jane/Finch and East Scarborough, where we provide 10 weekly hours of intensive after-school instruction in strings, percussion and choir, instruments and a daily nutritious snack, all free of charge. Children are accepted into the program in grades 1 & 2 and remain with us until they graduate from grade 8, as we recognize that it is only through year-after-year of intensive education that we can affect the kind of social change we are trying to create for not just individual children, but their families and entire communities.
