SFU Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FASS)

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Simon Fraser University, is the largest and most diverse Faculty at SFU. What we do in FASS is framed by two basic commitments: to help develop an engaged and informed citizenry primed for a lifetime actively involved in civic and public life; and to equip students with the knowledge and skill-sets they need to take advantage of the diverse work opportunities that will come their way as well as to adapt to an environment that will change over the course of their life.

The Faculty has 315 continuing faculty members and 97 staff spread across 16 Departments and Schools, 10 programs and a language institute. Annually, the Faculty teaches some 12,000 undergraduate students and 774 graduate students.
