SDG Cities is a collaborative, community-driven project supporting localization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Guelph and London. By providing enabling conditions, developing and sharing knowledge and building local networks SDG Cities will enhance capacity for SDG implementation and local impact measurement. SDG Cities will also be mapped, shared, and scalable, contributing to localization of the SDGs in other mid-sized communities.
How Does SDG Cities Work?
Engagement Across Multiple Sectors. SDG Cities will build capacity and support direct action with and between government, business, nonprofit, academic and philanthropic sectors. Programming and network development will integrate SDG action across funding, policy making, business development and social service delivery.
Knowledge Development and Sharing. SDG Cities will support new and existing place-based research, highlight local impact stories, and develop innovative training and education resources to accelerate the adoption of SDGs in mid-sized cities.
Implementation. SDG Cities will provide direct support for collaborative, and cross-sectoral SDG projects to support knowledge-driven action, build capacity, create value and ensure open and accessible data frameworks are developed.
