Pickering Community Concert Band

The Pickering Community Concert Band (PCCB) was founded in 1990 to establish, operate, maintain, equip and direct a community band in the City of Pickering to provide public concerts, exhibitions and educational forums in music. With no membership fees or auditions, the band is accessible to all musicians in the community.

The registered, non-profit band plays a vital role in the community bringing together over 65 musicians playing brass, woodwind and percussion instruments performing world-class music of every genre. The band attracts musical enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds, ages and levels of expertise. Retirees to high school students, professionals to novices, enjoy a continuation of their musical education and giving back to the community by performing during events such as Pickering’s Concerts in the Park Series, the annual Tree Lighting ceremony, educational children’s concerts and more. We also mentor several conductors and composers. Our concert programs often include pieces composed and conducted by band members and support guest appearances of local performing groups / artists.
