My Oral Village | Lighting the Path to Financial Inclusion

My Oral Village is a social enterprise working at the oral-digital frontier to build trusted, usable financial solutions for the unbanked. In other words, we translate the code of modern schooled banking into meaningful language that poorly schooled and illiterate adults – most of whom are women – can understand and feel safe using. We are currently working on mobile wallets, calculators and financial numeracy games. We target the following user groups: illiterate and innumerate adults, the extremely poor participating in ‘graduation programs’, microentrepreneurs, and savings group members.

Currently our work is all outside Canada, but we are looking for opportunities in Canada as well.
