The purpose of the Nanoose Community Services Society (NCS) is to support individuals and families facing economic hardship in Nanoose Bay ((Regional district of Nanaimo – Area E).
1. By monthly distribution of Quality Food vouchers to clients (Food Program),
2. By donating and distributing gifts to families and individuals at Christmas (Elf Program),
3. By providing essential services in emergency situations (e.g. transportation, dental, optical, rental or hydro assistance, etc.) (Emergency Program)
4. By providing financial aid in support of educational, vocational and career advancement (Educational Program)
5. By providing community information programs to enhance community awareness (Community Program)
NCS, a registered non-profit society (BN: 815338801RR0001) is managed and operated by volunteers and over 90% of funds raised go directly to our clients. The Board currently consists of six members, the Client Services Team comprises 13 members, and numerous volunteers support Christmas and other fundraising programs throughout the year.
