Mortal Coil is dedicated to creating imaginative theatre and spectacle for all audiences, young and old. The theatre it produces incorporates stilts, puppets, masks and other spectacle techniques to best illuminate themes that are important to contemporary life. Mortal Coil believes that these theatrical techniques enhance empathy in audiences and through them are able to deliver its message of inclusivity in stories that are based in history and in myth.
The company’s creative and original work is presented at festivals, in theatres and at site-specific events. Mortal Coil also develops community through teaching classes, workshops and lecture/demonstrations on the performing arts to the general public, educators and professional performers.
