CFN has been a significant hub for newcomers in Calgary in providing settlement services and programs. For over 29 years, CFN has developed diversity by having inclusive staff that is well versed in foreign languages and exceptionally trained to help incoming clients. From English language programs, to Settlement and Integration Services and a unique Work Experience program, CFN is well equipped with resources and a wide client based. The EthniCity Catering Work Experience program is a social enterprise that was created by CFN by and for the community. EthniCity allows students to showcase their ethnic culinary expertise while gaining relevant work experience in Canada. The project is one of many that focus on supporting ethnic experience by building individual skills and talents. Additionally, CFN has also undertaken a mentorship program that promotes multiculturalism in workplaces. Through experiential learning, the Multicultural Peer Mentorship for Professionals Program identifies key issues that hinder newcomers from being successful in job search and in the workplace to overcome any barriers.
