Circle of Friends will develop and implement a carefully- planned and well-developed program with a positive experience for socially-isolated seniors and other seniors who, as volunteers, are involved in the delivery. Partnerships will assist in delivering the program by way of an Advisory Committee, a Planning Committee, and volunteers will assist with program implementation, referring participants, and preparation and serving of food.
Along with Burlington Baptist Church, the partners include five other churches in the downtown area of Burlington: Knox Presbyterian Church, Port Nelson United Church, St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, St. Luke’s Anglican Church and Wellington Square United Church.

Other partners include Acclaim Health and the City of Burlington, Burlington Seniors` Centre and Burlington Central public School. Acclaim Health offered The Nelson Allan Project Toolkit, consultations in project development, volunteer screening and education and is a referral source for clients. The City of Burlington, Burlington Seniors’ Centre has extended an invitation to Circle of Friends to attend programs, provide orientation to the facility and accommodate the needs and modifications necessary to make all participants feel comfortable in their chosen program. Also, students from Burlington Central Public School are joining us for the two sessions between April 2017-December 2017. Along with a teacher, seven or eight students will be in attendance each session.
