The Bedeque Bay Environmental Management Association (BBEMA) is a not-for-profit; charitable organization governed by a board of directors that broadly represents the citizens of the area and its resource-based industries.
BBEMA’s projects include contributions from a diverse group of watershed participants: agriculture resource sectors, fishery/aquaculture, tourism and industrial as well as the urban and rural communities.
BBEMA’s goal is to provide opportunities to re-engage these many varied community stakeholders in the environmental well-being of the Bedeque watershed, emphasizing the conservation of biodiversity, enhancement of natural habitats, soil conservation, land use planning, wildlife habitat conservation, water quality protection and stream restoration.
