Canada’s Sustainable Future – Creating a Digital Action Plan is a new online dialogue series across Canada, hosted jointly by Future Earth, Sustainability in the Digital Age, and the Canadian Science Policy Centre (CSPC), aiming to a) raise awareness of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, b) enhance cross-sectoral multi-stakeholder partnerships, c) ensure that Canada’s progress leaves no one behind, d) foster and include Indigenous science and knowledge into approaches and efforts to achieve sustainable development goals, and c) collect recommendations from multi-sectoral perspectives to share with policymakers while examining how digital innovations can help Canada accelerate this process toward the UN’s 2030 Agenda.
This series is funded by the Government of Canada’s Sustainable Development Goals Funding Program.
In November 2021, a half-day symposium at the Canadian Science Policy Center’s annual national conference will mark the culmination of the dialogue series. Knowledge and key findings developed during the discussions in the National Dialogues will be presented to a larger science-policy audience. This ensures a highly visible, national platform for knowledge dissemination and key recommendations to be communicated to federal policy-makers and science stakeholders
