VIMY OAKS LEGACY CORPORATION is a not for profit group of volunteers promoting the memory and legacy of Canadians who fought in the First World War through the planting of Vimy Oak trees. These trees are descendants of acorns gathered from Vimy Ridge in France after the April 1917 battle and sent home to Canada by a Canadian soldier (Leslie Miller).

Our Mission is to create a living memorial by:

– Repatriation of Vimy Oak trees to France
– Distribution of Vimy Oak trees across Canada

Vimy Oak saplings will be planted in the Vimy Foundation Centennial Park, adjacent to the Canadian National Vimy Memorial site, as part of centennial commemorations in France in 2017 and 2018.

We also are offering Vimy Oak saplings grown in Canada for sale to qualifying organizations and individuals to be planted at commemorative sights throughout Canada to honour the soldiers who fought at Vimy Ridage and other battles during the First World War.

For more information and to download an application for a Vimy Oak sapling, to be planted at a commemorative site in Canada, visit our website at https://vimyoakslegacy.ca.
