HCLC/CJCH is a community-based, charitable, bilingual agency that provides legal services to low incomes individuals and communities in Hamilton to promote access to justice an improve quality of life. We do this through summary advice and referrals, representation, community development, law reform and public legal education. In 2013 we embarked on a collaborative journey to build relationships of trust with the Indigenous community when we launched YEN:TENE (Mohawk for “you and I will go there together”). We are committed to providing culturally respectful services and pursuing reconciliation as an organization and community.
Our 150 PLUS project is I AM COMMITTED. It challenges settler allies to publicly commit to the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action to promote reconciliation.
