Theatre Prospero

Theatre Prospero is a company in Edmonton that specializes in mythic and poetic theatre. Over the last 20 years we have created dozens of new productions of Shakespeare and other works, and hundreds of artists in residence programs in schools, where students get to explore great stories by performing them. Most recently, one of these artists in residence programs led to the creation by Reneltta Arluk of Pawakan Macbeth – a Cree-culture reimagining of Shakespeare’s, bloody tragedy. That adaptation is touring in Treaty 6 territory in 2018-19.
