The Local Community Food Centre

The Local Community Food Centre in Stratford, Ontario, is a partner site of Community Food Centres Canada. Programs are designed to promote access to healthy food for people who face barriers, and include a low-cost market, community meals, community kitchens, a social justice club and peer advocacy office, and community gardens. In 2017 the Local is creating a “Canada 150 Plus Commemorative Community Garden and Edible Forest” with the support of Community Foundations of Canada, Ontario150, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, Trillium Mutual Insurance Roots Foundation, the Juttting Business Centre, Home Hardware, and Farm Credit Canada.
