Organization for Literacy in Lambton

The Mission Statement for the Organization for Literacy in Lambton is “To ensure that all individuals in Lambton County have the opportunity to improve their literacy”. Organization provides adult learning programs funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. It also provides literacy and numeracy programs for elementary school children throughout the County.
The Organization is the lead organization of the Need To Read Committee which is overseeing this Project. The mandate of this Committee, established in 2004, is to increase awareness of literacy in the County of Lambton. The Committee organizes and delivers events that engage residents of all ages in literacy activities to improve literacy skills and encourage the love of reading. A few years ago, the mandate was expanded to include all forms of creative literacy to recognize the diversity of expression.
