Kompany Theatre Artists Society is a not-for-profit, charitable society dedicated to the promotion and production of high quality theatrical performances and productions suitable for:
• young audiences, families and other audiences associated with young audiences
• general audiences
• organizations, schools, festivals, events, etc.
The goals of the society are fulfilled primarily through the operation of its performing arts troupe, Kompany Family Theatre, an Edmonton-based professional theatre company dedicated to producing quality theatre for young audiences and families, as well as the creation and development of new works. Kompany Family Theatre’s activities include:
• Public performances for children and families
• Touring productions to daycares, schools, libraries, festivals and community events
• Custom-made, theatre-based workshops, classes, residencies, events, parties and performances • Playwriting workshops on writing for young audiences and family audiences
• Training workshops on elements of performing and creating theatre for young audiences
• Hiring and development of local professional theatre artists – performers, designers, directors, dramaturges, stage managers, playwrights, producers, choreographers, composers – contracted under conditions equal to or exceeding Canadian Actor’s Equity and Playwright’s Guild Guidelines.
