Joe’s Place is a non-profit, registered charity and Moose Jaw’s only youth drop-in centre. We have contact with as many as 200 youth per week. Our mission is “To provide a safe, non-threatening environment that is free of alcohol, drugs & violence, where the youth of Moose Jaw can experience enjoyable, clean entertainment and gain a positive outlook on life through meaningful relationships with caring adults and peers.” Joe’s Place is open to all Moose Jaw and area youth ages 14-19. Every youth is welcome! We strive to build character by providing mentorship, work skills training and opportunities to experience challenging activities. Joe’s Place is open on Friday and Saturday nights as a drop-in centre, Tuesday nights for Youth Small Groups/Young Moms Group and Wednesdays for Work-Skills Training. Joe’s Place also sponsors youth to attend various camps, retreats, day-trips and outings. We have a 30-foot climbing wall, and a commercial kitchen to feed hungry youth and teach them cooking skills. Thanks to Canada 150 funding we will be able to involve even more youth in adventure activities including hiking, biking, paintballing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and tubing.
