Children’s International Learning Centre

The Children’s International Learning Centre (CILC) was established in 1970 as a not-for- profit organization to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the United Nations. Originally, the CILC, housed in a single room and required untold volunteer hours to set up temporary displays in schools & libraries, dreamed of acquiring artifacts from every continent.

Today, we have 2 hour thematic programmes which are complementary to the the Ontario Curriculum and other organizational requirements. The displays incorporate some of our collections of items from over 150 countries. Our mission states: “With international resources and input from community and global experts, we develop dynamic hands-on programmes which encourage attitudes of respect for all people and our common environment. “
