FOXY (Fostering Open eXpression among Youth) & SMASH (Strength, Masculinities, and Sexual Health)

FOXY is a trauma-informed, youth-driven, non-profit organization located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories (NWT).  FOXY uses the arts (visual arts, drama, photography, traditional drumming, beading, digital storytelling, and Inuit & Dene games) to reach Northern and Indigenous youth to educate and facilitate discussion about sexual health education.  In 2016, SMASH (Strength, Masculinities, and Sexual Health) was created for young men and male-identifying youth, thanks to the $1 million Arctic Inspiration Prize.  Since 2012, FOXY and SMASH have reached over 3500 youth through our school-based programming across the NWT, Nunavut, and the Yukon and our 9 day on the land Peer Leader Retreats.
